Narrator

Tina is having her mid-year review. Her manager has the slides from Tuesday's team meeting.

Manager01

Overall, the last six months have been strong. Your team relies on you. I just want to flag one small thing: pacing.

Tina02

Pacing? You mean I talk too fast?

Manager03

In meetings, yes. On Tuesday, you presented four ideas in six minutes, without pausing for questions.

Tina04

I may have rushed more than I realized.

Manager05

Your ideas were useful. For example, combining supply orders could cut delivery fees. But you moved on before we could discuss it.

Tina06

That's fair. I kept changing slides without checking whether people were following.

Manager07

If you'd paused, some people would have asked questions.

Tina08

So next time: one idea, a pause, then questions?

Manager09

Exactly. For Thursday's presentation, focus on combining supply orders to cut delivery fees. Just that one idea.

Tina10

Just one idea for my whole presentation? That'll feel like slow motion.

Manager11

To you. To everyone else, it'll feel like a normal presentation.

Tina12

Fair. Okay: Thursday, one idea, slow motion. I'll even breathe between slides.

Manager13

Breathing is encouraged here. It's in the handbook.
