A journalist messaged me about "beyond the stars" in my bio.
What did the journalist ask?
I'm quoting: "Are you really from another planet? A mutual contact says you are. Can you confirm?"
Who's the contact?
She didn't name them. But she ends with: "I won't publish anything without your permission."
That's a good sign. She's asking first. And you still decide what to tell her.
Even so, someone told her without asking me. Now I feel pushed to confirm it.
You don't have to answer just because someone else talked about you. You can say you're not ready to discuss where you're from.
Good. Because the easy answer — "it's just a metaphor" — would be a lie.
Exactly. You can decline to answer without denying where you're from.
Then I'll reply, "Thank you for asking. I'd rather not discuss where I'm from for now."
And your bio? Are you keeping "beyond the stars"?
Yes. I'll add "loves matcha lattes." I can provide photographic evidence for that.
