LISTEN AND SPEAK
How practice works
Listen. Speak.At your own pace.
No need to choose a speaking mode. Start during the model audio or just after it finishes. This guide explains the flow, whether you are new or need a reminder.

Listen to the model
Start by listening to the sounds and rhythm.
- 02
Speak along or just after
Start during playback or within the short speaking window afterward.
- 03
Not ready to speak? Listen again
Listen to the same phrase again. In speed mode, the next playback may use a different speed.
- 04
Move on according to your settings
Complete the speed sequence or required repetitions to move to the next segment.
This is a reference guide. This walkthrough does not play audio, access the microphone, or record. Speaking practice takes place in the app, which is in preparation.
When should I speak?
Speak along with the model or start just after it finishes. Adjust the “Model audio interval” to set how long you have to begin after playback. If you start within that window, the app waits for you to finish.
Why does the same phrase repeat?
Listening is part of practice. You can hear the same segment without speaking. In the default speed mode, playback moves through the speed sequence. If no qualifying speech is detected during a full sequence, that sequence repeats.
Why does playback continue after I speak?
In speed mode, the rest of the speed sequence plays even after qualifying speech has been detected. You may simply listen to the remaining steps. In repetition mode, practice continues on the same phrase until the required number of qualifying attempts is reached.
What is the difference between warm-up and counted practice?
Begin with warm-up practice, where repetitions are not counted. Turn counting on yourself to record subsequent practice toward medals. Warm-up practice is not added retroactively. Speaking timing and progression conditions stay the same.
Completed rounds & medals
Completed rounds count the repetitions reached by every target phrase in a lesson. If three phrases have 3, 2, and 1 repetitions, that is 1 completed round. Progress toward bronze, silver, and gold follows your targets. Practice medals show accumulated practice, not a pronunciation score or pass/fail result. Check the app settings for required counts.
Record yourself and compare with the model
Turn recording on in whole-phrase practice to save your voice and compare it with the model. Speaking after the model ends makes recordings easier to review, though you can also speak along. Chunk practice does not record. Use what you hear to reconsider the difficulty of tricky phrases and adjust your next practice session.
If practice is not progressing
Very short speech may not qualify as one practice attempt. This is not a judgment that your pronunciation is wrong. If your voice is not picked up, check microphone permission, input, and surrounding noise, then adjust detection settings if needed. If an input error stops practice, check the microphone before resuming.
