Narrator

Tina has brought a job offer to the café. She and Frank are looking over the details.

Tina01

This job would let me run a research project instead of just assisting.

Frank02

That sounds like what you wanted. What's worrying you?

Tina03

My five-thousand-dollar bonus is due in two months. I'd lose it if I left now.

Frank04

Could you ask to start after that?

Tina05

They want me soon, but I'll ask tomorrow. I really want this work.

Frank06

That's what I'm trying to figure out — what work I really want.

Tina07

I thought you were considering a promotion.

Frank08

I am. But I'd spend more time managing schedules. I want to design experiments.

Tina09

Would you leave your company for that?

Frank10

Possibly. I'll look into other labs before deciding.

Tina11

Then tomorrow I'll ask about the start date, and you'll look into jobs.

Frank12

I thought I was helping you make a decision.

Tina13

You are. Now we just have twice as much homework.

“I'll look into other labs before deciding.”

Look into something means to investigate or consider it in detail, rather than simply look at it. Frank plans to research other laboratories as potential employers before deciding.
