WORDS & CONTEXT

Words & context

“I'm Stuffed!”

Stuffed literally means filled tightly. After eating, I'm stuffed. means completely full and unable to eat more. The title describes Tina after overeating at the buffet.

“You went back for dessert four times.”

Go back for something means to return to get it. At a buffet, it means going back for another helping. Frank has counted Tina returning for dessert four times. It appears again in A2-32.

“Progress.”

A one-word reply with a touch of irony. In A1-11, Tina wanted to eat the flowers meant as a gift for their teacher, though she is never shown actually eating them. This time she checked first that the decorations were sugar, so Frank grants, half exasperated, that this is progress.

“You're gonna walk it off.”

Walk something off means to relieve it by walking, such as fullness, mild pain, or anger. Here it refers to the discomfort of overeating.
