Narrator

Tina is looking at the star map on her wall. She opens the door for Frank, who has brought coffee as promised.

Frank01

Morning. Here's your coffee. You seem quiet today.

Tina02

I dreamed I was home with my family.

Frank03

What were you doing?

Tina04

Having breakfast. My sister was telling a story, and everyone was laughing.

Frank05

That sounds like a lovely dream.

Tina06

It was. Then I woke up, and the room was so quiet. I miss them.

Frank07

Would you like to call them?

Tina08

Later, maybe. Mom would worry if she heard me crying.

Frank09

You can talk to me. You don't have to pretend you're fine.

Tina10

My star looks so tiny this morning. So far away.

Frank11

It is far. But I'm just down the hall. Call me whenever you feel like this. I'll always come.

Tina12

Always? Then have breakfast with me. You can make the pancakes.

Frank13

...I walked right into that.

WORDS & CONTEXT

Words & context

“I walked right into that.”

Walk (right) into that means to unwittingly fall into someone's verbal trap or joke, rather than physically collide with something. Right emphasizes how completely it happened. After Frank promises to come, Tina turns his own words into a commitment to breakfast and pancake duty. He wryly acknowledges that she got him.
