Narrator

Tina is at Frank's apartment, telling him about her latest diet.

Tina01

My diet lasted three days.

Frank02

What was the plan?

Tina03

No pizza, no cake, no chocolate. Just salads for dinner.

Frank04

You gave up all your favorite foods at once?

Tina05

Yes. I got so bored that I ordered a pizza.

Frank06

If your plan were less strict, it might be easier to follow.

Tina07

So I wouldn't have to give up pizza completely?

Frank08

Why not try a smaller portion instead?

Tina09

Okay. I'll have two slices tonight.

Frank10

That sounds easier to stick to.

Tina11

Right. I'm ordering a large pizza.

Frank12

You said two slices. Why a large pizza?

Tina13

I'll ask them to cut it in half.

WORDS & CONTEXT

Words & context

“That sounds easier to stick to.”

Stick to something means to keep following a plan, rule, or decision. It is common when discussing diets and habits. Frank thinks this approach sounds easier to maintain.

“I'll ask them to cut it in half.”

This explains the punch line. Frank suggested eating only two slices. Tina orders a large pizza cut in half, technically producing two slices while still letting her eat half a pizza. The joke is her self-serving interpretation of the agreement.
