I was going to ask my coworker out for coffee tomorrow.

明日、同僚をコーヒーに誘おうと思ってたの。

The one you like?

気になってる人？

Tina03

Yes. I'd even picked out a nice jacket.

うん。素敵なジャケットまで選んでおいたのよ。

At lunch, he mentioned a weekend trip with his girlfriend.

お昼に、週末は恋人と旅行するって話してたの。

Oh. I'm sorry. You were looking forward to asking him.

そっか。残念だったね。誘うのを楽しみにしてたのに。

I was. I'd already chosen a café.

そうなの。カフェも決めてたんだ。

No. Once I heard about his girlfriend, I dropped the idea.

A crush is a romantic infatuation, often used in have a crush on someone. Office Crush describes Tina's feelings for a coworker.

“I was going to ask my coworker out for coffee tomorrow.”

Ask someone out means to invite them on a date or outing, especially with romantic intent. Tina planned to invite her coworker for coffee to become closer. Omitting out from ask someone for coffee changes the sense toward a request for coffee.
