“Not even with three connections.”
not even ~ は「~でさえ無理」。

After running club, Tina and her friend Maya from the club sit on a park bench. The other runners have left.
Can I ask where you grew up? You don't have to tell me if you'd rather not.
I don't usually tell people this. I grew up on another planet.
Another planet? You're serious?
Yes. My family still lives there. Does that make sense so far?
So when you say "home," you mean another planet?
Exactly. Let me put it another way: I can't visit them by plane. Not even with three connections.
So you can't just fly home for the holidays.
Right. I miss my family. Hearing everyone's holiday plans sometimes makes it worse.
That's a lot to take in. But I understand why holidays are hard for you.
Thanks for listening. Your turn — where did you grow up?
On my grandmother's farm. Chapter one: the day the chickens escaped—
Maya. "Where are you from?" doesn't need a table of contents.
You started in outer space. Let me have one chicken story.
WORDS & CONTEXT
not even ~ は「~でさえ無理」。
That's a lot to take in.
B2-12で、ティナ自身が友達に言われた言葉("'How are you?' doesn't need a table of contents.")
